MUBI FEST: A BIGGER SPLASH

Few films capture the madness of a breakup like this ground-breaking, semi-fictionalised account of painter David Hockney's harrowing creative process. Following the artist and his circle of friends, the film captures the agonised end of Hockney’s lingering affair with his muse, American artist Peter Schlesinger. As full of dreamy eroticism as his landmark pool paintings, this is a bracingly intimate look at the British artist's imagination – in a glowing restoration! “One of the finest films I have seen about an artist and his work” – Martin Scorsese *MUBI FEST comes to London November 13-15. Great cinema, exclusive talks, live music, and more.*
